‘The Interview’ watch full movie now, pulled by Sony Pictures from theatres ‘see below’

UPDATE: December 24/2014 – Just finished watching The Interview and my first impression, it is propaganda movie by/for the US Government. There were a few funny spots, but not anywhere near the best comedy I’ve ever seen. On a 1-10 it might be 4-5.

UPDATE: Sony is so scared about what the hackers have, they even gave in to taking down the YouTube preview, but you can view it HERE.

Simpson HouseNow we know what is expected of us in free speech countries due to the shut-down of one movie in two weeks. Artistic pleasure in the Arts expect that people doing such things, control what they put into a movie and do it discreetly, and with some clear thought.

I heard a good analogy today, we have freedom of speech but we are wise enough to know that we do not go into a full movie theatre (Not the Interview theatre) and yell out ‘FIRE’ this is irresponsible.

And we expect from movie houses, that they are allowed to express artistic artsy fartsy stuff, oh they call it ‘ART’ and use their common sense when making a movie and just think about what they are doing BEFORE they start.

In the end they will probably find some American 13-year-old boy in his Sony Pictured posters on his wall and a bong on the coffee table with all the stacks of hacked emails he just got off his 2GB mini laptop.

This is the newest and quickest way to bring Americans to their knees, if there was only another way of saying it. How very sad America, just when your opinion around the world had just started to improve.

Sochi 2014 Olympics Canada places 3rd, Well done – Men/Women win GOLD in hockey – Don Cherry has lots to say and doesn’t hold back

Canada wins GOLD in Men’s Hockey Sochi Olympics 2014 Made Canada proud.

  • Canada Olympians came through with an excellent showing at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, in Russia and although Russia was tops in the metal standings, Canada placed a respectable 3rd, just short of Vancouver 2010.

Donald S. Cherry Host of Coaches Corner made the trip to Sochi and had a lot to say but he will not be returning. He thought he would see “Women sweeping the streets with brooms,” but found out the city looked like “Downtown Mississauga, when he got there.”

Don Cherry turned 80 this week didn’t keep him silent – And what did you have to say?

UPDATE: ‘Welcome aboard’ Another Carnival cruise ship adrift at sea, no power, 4000 passengers/crew, ‘raw sewage everywhere’

Carnival Cruise ship Triumph is floating off the coast, in the Gulf of Mexico, with no power, and being towed to shore by tug boats since Monday.

Click 4 larger view

The cruise left Galveston, Texas on February 7th and is expected to arrive in Mobile, Alabama on Thursday.

As you can see one of life’s pleasures, charging cell phones was at a premium.

Passengers unplugged ATM machines and gathered extensions to charge their smart phones.

Carnival Triumph guests disembark safely in Alabama – Notice the ‘red restroom bags’

Latest UPDATE: Ship is on its way to Mobile, Alabama and will  arrive sometime tonight around 11-12, with 4200 passengers and crew, it is expected to take about four hours for everyone to disembark.

Passengers have praised the crew for all their help while they are coping with many of the same problems.

Even though power was very limited, it seems the ship had power for the ATM machines.

The ship had a fire in the engine room and lost most power, especially to the elevators and the toilet system.

Many have reported it is difficult to find working toilets, and most have been advised to use ‘red bags’ for their restroom.

Emergency lighting was still working but there is no air conditioning throughout the ship and most passengers are sleeping on the main deck, for a little cooling breeze from the ocean.

Food is very limited and many passengers are eating onion sandwiches, and many are hoarding food, since there is very little.

We can only imagine how terrible it is on the ship with raw sewage streaming throughout the ship, down the corridors and through the showers. It will be interesting to see what pictures surface after the ship returns to shore.

Carnival Cruise Lines have announced today they will refund the cost of the cruise for all passengers. They have also offered a credit for any future cruises and $500 cash?

Wonder how many will take them up on that offer, or will they sue?

What about the health consequences that may occur from the constant exposure and contact with the raw sewage since Monday?

Will anyone ever take a cruise again?

When will they get it?

What has to happen before people realize it is very dangerous and unhealthy.

There was much talk about the employees of the Carnival Triumph cruise and how well they adapted to the situation, and gave the guests that extra service that was above and beyond.

If any employees wish to give their side of the story anonymously, we would be very happy to hear from you how it went for you. If you are in the continental United States we would love to hear from you.

We would also love to hear some stories from the passengers as well, how you coped with the ‘cruise’ and what you have to say about Carnival Cruises.

Costa Concordia Captain Francesco Schettino attends court to answer to the tragedy that killed 32

Tuscan, Italy – The Captain of the Costa Concordia Francesco Schettino, 51, made his first court appearance today to answer to the charges of manslaughter, causing a shipwreck and abandoning ship while passengers and crew were still aboard. He has claimed he is innocent of of all charges.

The hearing today was for the Judge to decide if they will go to trial to answer to the charges, and none have been officially laid until the Judge determines if they can go ahead.

It all started back in January 13, 2012 when Schettino allegedly ordered the ship to make a ‘sail pass’ close to the shore of Tuscan island of Giglio off the coast of Italy and caused the ship to run aground and capsize and 32 people died as he made this unscheduled course adjustment to impress his friends with a ‘salute.’

The cruise line which had a total of 4200 including crew and passengers is owned by Carnival Cruise Lines in Miami, Florida.

The turnout was so large at court today it had to be moved to a Theatre in central Italian town of Grosseto. Many of the survivors were on hand to look the ‘coward in his face.’

The Costa Concordia remains on its side with the puncture in the ship and attempts to get it moved are still underway by salvage teams.

US Dollar devalued on Toronto Transit (TTC) 10% surcharge on US funds – 90 cents

Toronto, Canada – An extremely small sign at the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) collector booth in downtown Toronto startled me yesterday when I saw this sign (below) that there will now be a 10% surcharge if you are paying in US Funds for your transit ride.

Seems like the TTC jumped the gun big-time, since the US Currency is just a cent or two below Canadian and fluctuates back and forth. The current USD to Canadian rate stands at (1 USD = 0.975585 CAD) and is expected to fall even more.

Americans have enjoyed a 20% premium on their currency for many years but that has changed. Others are reporting it may continue to fall on the world market up to and beyond the Presidential Election in November 2012.

Danny Nicholson a long time spokesperson for the TTC said, “I am not aware of the new signs but would get back to you.”

Brad Ross of TTC Corporate Affairs Communications said “I’m not aware of those signs either.”

No-one from TTC got back to me about why this new procedure is in effect and how it came about, before press time.

They were spotted at the Queen/Yonge subway on Monday.

Other retailers have not made the jump, yet, but with the holiday season approaching, anything is possible.

UPDATE: VIA passenger train derailment in Burlington, Ontario, train was going over 4 times the speed limit

It has been determined by the TSB/BST (Transportation Safety Board of Canada) that passenger train 92 derailed due to excessive speed last Sunday, February 26th, where three people died and 42 others were injured, of the 75 onboard the five coaches.

The accident occurred when train 92 from Niagara Falls to Toronto had to change tracks in Burlington, just west of Toronto and derailed with the engine and the passenger car directly behind it, completely turned over on their side, and all three locomotive engineers were killed. The engine and the car behind it flipped on their side and ran into an industrial building beside the tracks. These details were released by the investigative team from the TSB/BST after looking at the ‘black box’ which is in every engine. The maximum speed for switching tracks is 15 mph and yet the train was still traveling at 67 mph when the crash occurred.

Investigator Tom Griffith of the TSB/BST said, “It can now be confirmed that the train entered the crossover from track 2 to track 3 at approximately 67 mph, the maximum authorized speed at that crossover is 15 mph.”

The ‘black box’   which is actually orange, revealed much of the information but because of the damage to the cab, a lot of data still needs to be gathered, but the speed was clear, it was excessive.

A class action law suit has been filed against CN Rail who own the tracks and VIA rail who operate passenger travel within Canada.

Read more about ‘My Take’   on the crash HERE and an excellent article in The National Post.

UPDATE: 7:30 am (EST) Wednesday – Powerless, Costa Allegra expected to land in Seychelles on Thursday after blackout/fire in Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean (Nearing Seychelles)A small (295-foot) French fishing ship is currently towing the disabled Costa Allegra Cruise ship towards the island of Seychelles (population 86,000,) and not expected to arrive until Thursday. She lost power in the Indian Ocean on Monday after a fire in the engine room with over 1000 passengers and crew aboard. It is reported that all are safe aboard the Allegra, as reported by the BBC  Tuesday.

The Allegra has been adrift  in the Indian Ocean since Monday, and there is no air conditioning aboard, with the temperatures running around 30C. More safety crews have been dispatched with more tugs and supplies for the passengers. Food and water has been brought to the Allegra by helicopter and most passengers are on the decks to avoid the hot temperatures in their cabins. The Allegra set sail from Madagascar on Saturday and was expected to arrive in Seychelles on Tuesday.

Costa Cruise lines is not having a good year, after the sinking of the Costa Concordia grounding off the coast of Italy in early January where over 30 died and several still missing, of the over 4100 passengers and crew. Just last weekend, the parent company of Allegra and Concordia, Carnival Corporation, suspended onshore excursions on their ships arriving in Mexico. This came about because 22 passengers were robbed while on one of these excursions in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

There is still concern for passengers aboard, as that section of the Indian Ocean is pirate infested, although there are armed anti-pirate Military units aboard the ship to protect the passengers. Several planes are being arranged in Seychelles, so when the passengers arrive, they will be able to get home safely.
