It seems Ferguson, Missouri residents are getting the message, STAY HOME.

Ferguson, Missouri, USA – After eleven days of unrest in the small community of Ferguson (20,000) a suburb of St. Louis protesters have finally made the decision to stay home because the large numbers of armed security forces and the National Guard.

It all started last Saturday when an unarmed 18-year-old black man was shot dead during the daytime in a residential street just off the main drag.

Not known when the murdered young man Michael Brown had a scuffle at a local variety store where he was seen on video tape allegedly stealing about $40 of cigars and strong arming (store video below) the store clerk while he was leaving the store.

He was eventually stopped by officer Darren Wilson (28) a six-year veteran of Ferguson Police P.D. who is now on paid leave. He has said he originally stopped them for walking down the middle of the street, but the officer then realized he might be the person the radio said had recently robbed (10 minutes earlier) a store of cigars. He got in a struggle with Brown and finally shot him dead with six-gun shots.

For some unknown reason The Furguson, Missouri Police Department website in down right now, and you can view it HERE, which is the Wikipedia website, and we don’t know when their home page will be open.

They may be hiding under their desks, but I think they are packing their bags, because I’m sure the force, 53 officers of which only 3 are black, will soon be shutdown and proper more trained officers will be brought in to stop  harassment of the fine residents of Ferguson.

Jodi Arias murder trial – not one ‘yes or no questions’ today as defence asks Alyce LaViolette questions ‘what is a really good lie’

Domestic violence expert Alyce LaViolette was still on the stand today (day 9) as she was answering questions from the defence and yet prosecutor Juan Martinez didn’t miss a step trying to interrupt her answers with constant objections.

Judge Sherry K. Stephens did not fall for it and in almost all objections from Martinez she overruled his ignorant interruptions. It appears he wants her to still answer questions “his way” even though he is NOT asking the questions.

Judge Sherry K. Stephens at a ‘sidebar’

For the past four/five days while he was cross-examining LaViolette he would battle her with questions that he only wanted ‘yes or no’ answers even though she wanted to give her honest answer.

How will Juan Martinez’s questioning, objecting, bullying, fighting with the defence witnesses effect the jury in their deliberations once the case goes to the jury? It’s unlikely, but remember only one juror has to disagree with the prosecution and it would be a mistrial, and it all starts all over again.

There is no doubt Jodi Arias killed Travis Alexander, she has admitted it. The question here is, will the jury have the option to find her guilty, and yet not allow the death penalty to be imposed.

During the questioning from the defence today, LaViolette was asked “do men like Travis Alexander (the victim) have a double life?” Was again constantly challenged by Martinez.

Jennifer Willmott

Then the defence attorney Jennifer Willmott went on to ask, “given all the lies Arias has told in the past, does it cause problems in your believability?”

“No they don’t, because if Ms. Arias was a really good liar she would have planned a really good lie and she didn’t,” answered LaViolette.

Martinez objected to that asking, “give us a definition of a really good lie,” which was overruled by Judge Stephens, “the answer will stand.”

Coming up next will be jury questions, and the last round, they asked over 200.

One of the big questions will be, where was Alexander shot with the gun, in the closet or in the bathroom. And was he shot before he was stabbed or like Arias said, she stabbed him first in the bathroom.

The trial will continue tomorrow Friday and several Fridays within the next couple of months if the trial continues that long.

New Subway station finally arrives at Carlton/Parliament downtown Toronto, umm not really, just a movie prop

Click picture for an even larger view

Toronto, Canada – A new subway entrance (Midtown Blvd Station) popped up for one day downtown Toronto at Carlton/Parliament and although many thought it was thanks to Mayor Rob Ford, it was not real.

It was a fake station entrance for a new CBS/CW-TV series, Beauty and the Beast being shot in the Old Cabbagetown area and Pinewood Studios in the Portlands.

Massive gridlock on film set with paid duty cops not directing traffic while getting $65 an hour (see below)

It use to be fun having films shot in the city, but it is becoming increasingly annoying as they constantly cause horrendous traffic jams while they are shooting weekdays in the downtown area.

Toronto is still a very popular filming site for Hollywood because the crews and the Canadian Dollar are very attractive to producers. Recently the remake of  Total Recall with Colin Farrell was filmed down on the Lakeshore, and we experienced the same thing, as the roadway was closed for several days while the filming took place.

The Toronto Film Office maintains the film industry brings money to the city, and it does, many local people are used as extras in the production but they tend to demand discounted rates for anything that they buy. Car/truck rentals and hotels used for the actors are given at highly discounted rates, and they don’t buy much food because they have everything catered on site.

Caution: This is not a real subway, there are no steps

While it is still a bit fun to see them filming Hollywood style series and movies in the city, lets try and keep it to the weekends.

And if you have to hold up traffic while they are filming, keep it to five minutes at the most. While they were filming on Parliament this week, they had 3-4 paid duty police officers, but they barely controlled traffic, as you can see at the Carlton/Parliament intersection. (above)

They would stop traffic for up to 20 minutes with no police directing traffic on the south side of Parliament, rather they were standing on the side of the road chatting and the one officer is even texting/facebooking his friends while on official duty.

Keep in mind the officers are only making $65 an hour for uniformed paid duties, and possibly they make even more on film sets. But rarely do we see them directing traffic at their paid duty locations (film or construction.) The city claims we have no money, and there is too much gravy, and the police received over $2 million last year, just for paid duties.

Toronto Police name-tags: Visible or hidden in their pockets. St. Jamestown senior claims no tags on push-in at his home

Toronto Police Service ‘Robo cops’ at the G20

Toronto, Canada – Several years ago the City of Toronto made it mandatory that on duty police must wear their personal name-tags on their uniforms at all times.

If that is the case, why are they attached to the uniforms with velcro, which allows them to be taken off quickly at anytime.

And it seems that is what they did on Sunday, at a senior’s apartment in St Jamestown complex at Wellesley/Sherbourne.

The resident says he opened the door and about seven burly bicycle policemen in uniform pushed their way into his apartment, without a warrant and no velcro name-tags on their uniforms.

Their number patches on their shoulders where also not visible because they had their yellow jackets on without name-tags. When asked, they never told him what they wanted, nor did they show a valid search warrant. One officer (unidentified) went as far to say, “We don’t need a warrant.”

That was Sunday morning, and then today, Monday, October 22/12 the same officers arrived again unidentified and no warrant, and no explanation about why they were there.

Once could be a mistake, but twice, with the same officers, same attitudes, something is wrong. They completed their searches each day and left with nothing. When they first arrived at 10am on Sunday morning they said “they were responding to a noise complaint,” but no charges were laid and there was no problem with noise.

The 61-year-old senior with several medical problems, called the local station and he told the officer who answered what had occurred. The officer asked if he “had problems with police” which is reasonable, but wouldn’t they still need a search warrant? He asked “what should I do” and at no time did the officer tell him to file a formal complaint. He asked if he could “speak to the Sergeant on duty” and she put him through to another general Sergeant voice mailbox, which was indicated full.

What it seems the police are trying to do in St Jamestown is commendable, as it seems they are trying to stop the spread of drugs throughout the community, which this senior supports.

No name-tag not acceptable, we see the velcro

But having his apartment raided by unidentified officers two days in a row and find nothing and offer no explanation or apologies, they have clearly crossed the line and answers are forthcoming.

You can see just above the watermark (DMB) this officer like many others at the G20 Summit in Toronto, had pulled his name-tag off, so they couldn’t be identified.

The big question, why don’t they just sew the name-tags onto their uniforms permanently, so they cannot take them off when they conduct a ‘raid’ without a warrant or explanation.

One officer (unidentified) as he was leaving said, “You shouldn’t have crack heads in your house,” which the senior says, he did not.

Toronto’s Mayor Rob Ford under fire again, is he giving up? Will he lose his mayorship?

Toronto, Canada – The people voted Rob Ford into office, and since he arrived has been under fire for all kinds of things. His latest stubbornness has been his action where he sent out City of Toronto letterhead requesting funding for his amateur football team of $3,150. That was wrong.

He is Toronto’s 64th mayor and voted into office in 2010.

He then went on to vote on the ‘conflict-of-interest’  before city council and the Ford haters have come forward and want his removal from office.

He has been ordered to attend court next Wednesday, and answer to questions that will be asked by the plaintiffs lawyer Clayton Ruby. Ruby is suggesting that Ford has ‘lied’ many times on his route to City Hall.

Mayor Ford has not been a fan of The Toronto Star from the beginning and have wanted him removed since he was elected by the people of Toronto. They never seem to let up on him, at every turn, read some of their ARTICLES HERE.

UPDATE: Ford spoke about his fishing trip with Prime Minister Harper in Quebec and answered some questions about his upcoming hearing, you can listen HERE on CFRB.

Ford did admit to Jim Richards on CFRB, that he does read The Star, despite their campaign against him, but just the sports section.

Or you can watch him on CFRB, HERE.

‘Thought Police’ – Is this a reality in 2012? Yes, not 1984, George Orwell would be devastated

It seems this has happened in the past decade and more and more the ‘state’ is telling us what we MUST do. From not drinking soda drinks which may be harmful to you (in New York) to being forced to have a smart phone, so the ‘state’ will know exactly where you are and what you’re doing.

We don’t do it blindly, we do it willingly and people do not know the powers of these devices. We see everyday in courts, they are using phone records, text messages and Facebook postings, to convict people of crimes they say they have not committed, but because their ‘devices’ say they were at a certain point at a certain time, via cell phone, guilty.

Have we become ‘sheeple’ and just do everything the governments tell us we must do, without thinking?

Not only do we have cameras (CCTV) everywhere, that track our every move, we the people allow it, and don’t say anything, “it’s for our security?”

Do they have us brainwashed, well most but not all.

It’s not necessary to post everything you are doing on Facebook, nor carry your cellphone in the on position, everywhere you go, but many think it’s for security and safety but if you stop and think, are there other reasons?

It’s gotten to the point where criminals are video taping themselves committing a crime, and then post it on the internets, and they get caught immediately. What’s that about?

Don’t let yourself fall into these traps, start ‘thinking for yourself.’
