Toronto, Canada –  A City Hall councillor has proposed an increase in fines for blocking rush hour routes, for those stopping to get a quick coffee, etc, and yet are police getting coffees, going to be an exception, or only if they are on   official business?

The Toronto Star  is calling them “road Hogs”   but it has been going on for years and most residents are in favor of the new fine, but will it ever become a reality?  Most that are ticketed downtown in the core are delivery vehicles that just pass on the price of doing business to the consumer and even with the $60 fines now they still stop anywhere anytime.

And the real big problem is trucks such as the one above block the lanes reserved for cyclists and that could cause injury as they merge into moving traffic.
