Toronto, Canada - This is Simpson House (Circa 1840) on the scenic 7.5 acres of the Riverdale Farm in Cabbagetown in downtown Toronto.
It was originally built in Markham Township (N/E of Toronto) and moved to the then Riverdale Zoo in the late 1800′s. It was designated a historical site in 1989 by the Toronto Historical Board. The 1840′s Pennsylvania German-type barn was donated to the City of Toronto by the Fancy Family.
It’s a great spot for the whole family to visit, with all kinds of farm animals and at one time it was a zoo, but mainly has horses, chickens, and a small hatchery on the site. It’s free to visit and open to the public. On the north side of the farm there is the beautiful Toronto Necropolis Cemetery (1850) which was used in the filming of the new TV series, The Firm, which is filmed mostly in Toronto.
This is one of my favorite pictures, (not the chic) Daniel .. Toronto, Canada .. (MTOE)
